Much to my dismay, October was not a very productive month in terms of reading. However, though I barely finished any books, two of them were amazing reads – quality over quantity, am I right? Here is the summary:
Books read: 3
Pages read: 1072
Favorite read of the month: The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart by Holly Ringland ♡
Not Her Daughter by Rea Frey
This is a thriller about a missing child, but it’s rather atypical. Why? Because we read from the perspective of the kidnapper, instead of that of the victim or their family.
Although the plot was promising and interesting, and this was an alright read, the characters were pretty annoying most of the time.

Close to Home by Cara Hunter
The first book in a recent crime series, Close to Home is about the disappearance of an 8-year-old girl during a costume party in her backyard.
This was an amazing and engrossing read, not only due to the author’s gripping writing but also the different formats – Facebook posts, Tweets, interrogations – included throughout the story.

The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart by Holly Ringland
I had never heard of this book until it came out in Portugal. After seeing quotes from this debut, I thought I should give it a try – I’m a sucker for beautiful quotes.
There isn’t anything in this book that I didn’t love, from the writing to the characters, so I definitely recommend that you give it a try!

Alright, my loves, those were all the books I finished in October. I was hoping that November would be better, but it’s the 10th already and I haven’t finished a single book 😭 We’ll see how it goes 😅
What have you been reading lately? Have you read any of these books? Let me know down in the comments!
Thank you for reading,
I’ll see you in my next post ♡
